Road Trip

Travis The Gnome and I visited family in Louisiana for the long weekend. It’s a four hour drive from Houston, which isn’t bad but it could be better.
A movie that Ret-conned HQ has been hotly anticipating since the first time it was announced is Tucker and Dale vs Evil. It had a very limited showing on the film awards circuit a while back, but it has yet to get a full release. It’s finally gotten released on the Magnolia On Demand service this month and will be released in theaters on September 30. Tony Moore, the primary artist for The Walking Dead, has applied his skills at visceral gore to a new movie poster that is absolutely awesome. Can’t wait to see this when it hits theaters.
Marvel Studios has released new promo art for the Avengers. It’s really interesting how heavily Marvel is promoting this movie so early, but it is in the middle of the comic con season, so I guess they want to dominate the con news cycle. I have to admit that these art posters with the photo realistic actor faces is kind of freaky. It’s also disappointing that they give Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow the classic three-quarters turned, taking a step, tight butt shot that is disappointing to see in most comics, but even more so in a movie promo that only has one of the multiple women that have been apart of the Avengers. Hopefully, this promotional art isn’t indicative of how Black Widow will be portrayed in the film.
