Cat Got Your Tongue

The first official photos of Anne Hathaway as Catwoman have been released and look quite good, although some are expressing that more than others.

Officially, there’s only been two photos of Catwoman released, but there are also some on-set photos of Anne Hathaway’s stunt double from the Pittsburgh film set. Unsurprisingly, Darwyn Cooke’s more realistic Catwoman costume translates very well on the screen. The shots that we’ve seen do not include the cat “hood” that she’s worn in the comic, so I’m not sure that we can say that we’ve seen the complete costume. Since all of the images we’ve seen show her riding Batman’s Batpod, whether with or without permission from The Man we do not know, I’m not sure if the high-tech goggles she is wearing are her regular goggles or something special.

Boom has released their solicitations for October, which included an announcement of the final issue of Darkwing Duck. Since Disney acquired Marvel, everybody assumed that the Disney licensed books will be moved from its most recent licensee, Boom, back to the House of M. When books like The Muppet Show were canceled, there had been a brief mention that the comics based on the Disney afternoon comics, like Darkwing , would not be taken over at Marvel. Now that this final issue has been announced, there’s been no word on whether the book will appear at Marvel or if it has flapped into the night, never to be heard from again. This has been one of the Gnome’s favorite books. She will not be pleased.

Continuing the sad news, SyFy has announced that the next season of Eureka will be its last. Eureka has been one of Kris’s favorite shows for a while and the Gnome and I have just recently caught up on the series on Netflix. Unfortunately, we don’t have much longer with it. It’s been sad to watch the great SciFi Channel that gave the nerds a place in cable television to have an identity crisis over the last couple of years and slowly kill off all of it’s major scifi programming. I hope that they’ll have another good show to replace Eureka, but somehow I doubt it.
