Cutting In

It's taken us a very long time, but we finally got a chance to see Captain America: First Avenger. We enjoyed it immensely and have started making plans based on it.

Kris thinks this is his favorite movie from the Marvel Studios movies and i can't think of a good reason why I don't agree with him. The story was a fun and entertaining superhero adventure with some great action sequences. Based on his previous films, we knew that Joe Johnston liked movies that were filled with stunning visuals and this was the case here as well.

After watching this, we're really excited about The Avengers. If Marvel can find a good balance between all of the different heroes that are going to be in the film, it has the potential to be something cool. The latest spy footage has scenes of Thor and Captain America wailing on large groups of enemies. That could be 75% of the film and Kris and I are sold.

Kris and I think that Loki and the Cosmic Cube are going to be involved as the cause of the strife in The Avengers with the big twist at the end being the return of Red Skull. Kris has heard Marvel announced that there will be two more Marvel movies after Iron Man 3, but not who they will be. We're hoping one will be Captain America 2 with Steve fighting the Winter Soldier controlled by the resurrected Red Skull. For the longest time, there's been rumors of a Nick Fury movie (or at least rumors of Samuel L. Jackson wanting a Nick Fury movie), so maybe that will be the second unannounced film.
