Travis The final issue of The Outsiders came out this week. Yes, it was that bad. There wasn’t so much a story as there was a 16 page recap of the whole history of The Outsiders from every volume since it was created in 1983 until present day. This only went to show how bad the current run of Outsiders was compared to some of the earlier stuff. Finally, we get four pages of story and it was as disappointing as it sounds. There’s no Outsiders book in the September Reboot and I’m starting to think that’s a good thing. Let this property lie low for a little bit before considering bringing it back. We need time to heal.
Marvel is ramping up the propaganda machine for Captain America: The First Avenger by releasing a new marketing poster as well as a brand new trailer. The poster looks cool, but with some of the ways the airbrushed it, Cap looks more like John Barrowman than Chris Evans. Maybe I’m just too excited about next month’s return of Torchwood.
Filming for Man of Steel starts in August and so last minute casting buzz is starting. We’ve heard reports of Russell Crowe being courted to play Jor-el and now there’s reports of [Julia Ormond being offered the part of Lara], Superman’s biological mother. The rumors have been stating that Jor-el will have a larger role in the film, but I really hope they don’t do that. It’s really an unnecessary touch. The most important thing about Jor-el is that he sent his son to Earth. Anything beyond that really doesn’t matter.
