Travis The Gnome and I gave up meat for Lent. I figured I’d have more problems not eating meat for 40 days than I have being interested in eating meat after the 40 days were up.
With Thor less than two weeks away, the beginning of Super Hero Summer 2011 is about to begin. Warner Bros. have released new character posters to help build up more interest in Green Lantern. There’s also reports that Warner has had to sink an extra $9 million into the movie for a last minute push to finish the CGI work on time. I know that CGI is a big component of making these films work, but I’m starting to wonder if Green Lantern is going to be too far over the top.
They have started filming The Avengers and not only did we get a cool set pic, but the actor playing Loki in Thor will reprise his role for that film as well. It still hasn’t been disclosed who the villain will be in the Avengers movie or what big event will cause these heroes to come together, but if Loki will make an appearance in the film then there’s a chance they will follow the storyline in The Ultimates.
The biggest question that people have wondered concerning Captain America: The First Avenger is whether Cap getting frozen in World War II and reawakened in contemporary times will happen in the Cap movie or in the Avengers movie. While doing press for The Avengers, Chris Evans accidentally divulged those details. In case you are trying to avoid the spoilers, I won’t ruin it for you and make you click for it instead.
Consistently one of the books I most look forward to every month is Tiny Titans. This DC Kids book is a joy to read and something that I think I’d give to anybody of any age. It’s especially great for long-time comics fans as there are a ton of references and jokes to the main continuity. If you want to get a feeling for the whimsical nature of the title, you need look no further than the recent interview with Art Baltazar and Franco done by Newsarama. They discuss some their second Eisner nomination, the upcoming All Kroc and Flashpoint issues, as well as the joy of meeting fans. Aw yeah!
