Hard to Find Good Help

Travis One of the things I’ve always loved about Batman stories is Alfred, especially his subtle wit when talking with Master Bruce. It might just be my imagination, but it feels like Alfred’s wit has gotten more acerbic and sarcastic then it has in the past. If that’s true, then it might cause household strife.
Today is Halloween, which means we all have an excuse to wear the super-hero costume that we’ve been hiding in our closets for the past five years just in case we wake up one day with powers. Halloween doesn’t guarantee that we’ll have these powers, but if you wait one more day DC will give them to you for free. Kris played DCU Online for a while and has really enjoyed it. I’ve messed around with it at his place for an evening once and while it was fun, my game playing schedule is so erratic that I’ve never been willing to pay a monthly fee for a game. Now that DCOU will be going free-to-play, it might be something worth checking out. Of course, I have to get through Arkham City first and since I’m only 30% of the way in, that might take some time.
Marvel is getting ready to release a new Spider-Man monthly comic called The Avenging Spider-Man, which is pretty cool. What’s even cooler, is they’ve announced that every issue will include a free digital download code. It’s been interesting to watch how the different publishers have approached digital initiatives and I think this is a unique step on Marvel’s part. Basically, Marvel is trying to setup that digital isn’t a replacement for print, but that the two can coexist. You still get the paper copy to store in your short box, but when it’s late at night and you want to read Avenging Spider-Man you can pull it up on the iPad on your bedside table without having to get out of your toasty bed. It’ll be interesting to see if they experiment with this with other books or for a longer term, but I applaud Marvel for at least experimenting.
