Perilous Precipitation

Travis It has rained in Houston pretty much all day. This is the first solid rain that we’ve had since May and it was freaky.
New York City Comic Con is this week and the news is already starting to filter out. DC has announced that Andy Kubert will be taking up art duties in Action Comics for two episodes starting in January. Kubert’s art in Flashpoint was a lot of fun and with as dynamic as Morrison’s storytelling usually is, I think it’ll be a good combination. If you’ve been enjoying Rag Morales’ artwork, have no fear because he will return in Action Comics #7.
When Amazon announced the Kindle Fire last week, they announced that 100 of DC’s best-selling graphic novels would be available exclusively through Amazon’s Kindle Store. This week, in a weird knee-jerk retaliation, Barnes & Noble pulled those books from their store shelves. The books they’ve pulled include Watchmen, Sandman, and The Dark Knight Returns among several others. The official word from Barnes & Noble is that they only sell books that they can sell in all formats. Since they can’t sell these DC books in digital, they won’t sell any at all. It seems like a really stupid move on Barnes & Noble’s part and it’s definitely just a pissing contest. From DC’s press release, I doubt that they’ll be the first ones to blink, especially since unofficial channels indicate B&N already did.
