Starting the Year Off Right

The Ret-Conned crew started year out with our traditional New Year’s Eve Cook-a-thon. Basically, we started cooking mid-afternoon on December 31 and kept on cooking past midnight, eating all along the way.

Friday we threw up our list of 2010 comics highlights. It’s also been fun reading what other lists people have been putting up. Comic Alliance did one list that was the Top 5 Worst Comics of 2010. Kris proudly pointed out that he owns all but two of the things mentioned. Cry for Justice started out with so much potential that we thought it would be interesting. Looking back now, it’s had very little impact on the Universe as a whole outside of the Arrow family. Sure, Brightest Day introduced a forrest into the devastation of Star City that will presumably have some impact on the end of that story. Arsenal’s got some issues to work out in Titans, but he really seems bolted onto the story and not that important. Granted, this Villans for Hire thread in Titans hasn’t been earth shattering outside of the death of Ryan Choi. How things will get resolved there is the biggest thing that I’m interesting in from that book.

January brings DC’s Iconic Covers event, where the covers of all the major books are just the character with their logo on a white background. From what’s been posted on line, we really like the aesthetic and can’t wait to see how it looks in real life.
