Brightest Day: This Shit Ain't Right!
Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at 7:00PM |
Travis Kris and I have quickly realized that the purpose of Brightest Day is to demonstrate how screwed up everything got by bringing these twelve people back to life. If you don’t believe us, pick up any issue of Brightest Day and open it to any page. I won’t ruin Brightest Day #2 for anybody who hasn’t read it yet, but I think that the statue of spoiler limitations is up for Brightest Day #1: Giant Zombie Kraken!! That’s just not right, but it makes for a great read.
Travis, what’s on your pull list?
- Atomic Robo: Revenge of the Vampire Dimension #3 - My favorite book continues with the return of the ever popular Doctor Dino from last year’s Free Comic Book Day entry.
- Birds of Prey #64 - This now completes my Birds of Prey run from #56 to #127, the end of the first volume.
- Hellsing Vol 10 - The last volume in the awesome manga series. Vampires, armies of the Vatican, and Nazi Vampires, what more could you want?
- Tiny Titans #28 - If you don’t start laughing on the first page you have no soul.
- Zatanna #1 - It’s Paul Dini writing another powerful female, how could I turn it down?
Kris, what’s on your pull list?
- Azrael #8 - I’m loving Ramon Bachs art style more and more.
- Batman: Streets of Gotham #12 - Paul Dini turning another female villain into a deep and interesting character.
- Brightest Day #2 - Ended with the one thing that could make it even more messed up then it was before.
- DC Universe Legacies #1 - Adding to my already growing love of the original JSA.
- Justice League of America #45 - Germans. Angry Germans. And a big Kingdom Come reference.
- Legion of Super-Heroes #1 - A little less Brainiac 5 and this might be a great book.
- Robin #178 - Wasn’t planning on buying this today, but it completes my collection of the last two story arcs of Tim Drake’s run on Robin.
- Stargate: Vala Mal Doran #1 - It helps if you read it with Claudia Black’s voice.
- Superman/Batman #72 - Paul Levitz is showing he can write more than Legion.
- War of the Supermen #3 - That’s fucked up.
- Zatanna #1 - Paul Dini writing the character who looks exactly like his wife. It’s awesome and dirty at the same time.
