How else am I supposed to pay for my comics?

This stuff isn’t cheap, you know?

But there is hope on the horizon, Free Comic Book Day is this Saturday. FCBD holds a special place in my heart as it marks the day, one year ago, that I went from casual reader to avid collector. I really only started buying comics again to read the Batman RIP storyline, but when I was given Blackest Night #0 I quickly branched out into what I am now. I’m really interested to see if FCBD can possibly have the same impact the second time around.

May also marks the beginning of several big storylines in the DC Universe. War of the Supermen, tying up the New Krypton storyline and hopefully getting Superman back to being Superman, Brightest Day - The fallout of Blackest Night, and Justice League: Generation Lost - Bringing the members of Justice League International back together for a completely crazy adventure spinning out of Blackest Night.

I remember when I thought my comic buying would die down after Blackest Night. Silly, clueless boy. Oh well, I regret nothing. Okay, I regret some things, but I don’t regret anything to do with buying comics. Except Widening Gyre, but then I think we all regret buying Widening Gyre.
