Travis The other day I was wrapping Kris’s Christmas present and made a joke on Twitter about killing two rolls of wrapping paper to wrap his present. Kris immediately shot back with this gem:
Isn’t fazed by @althefierce’s sad attempt to psyche him out in the present buying contest. I’ve already won. #bestbestfriendever
Sometimes you don’t know there’s a war until you’re in the middle of it.
This weekend the trailer for the Thor movie was released. Not only is it out there for everybody to see, but you can also find deep analysis of the trailer’s deeper meanings. Overall, I’m impressed with the look of the trailer. I’d expect nothing less than epic visuals from Kenneth Branagh and it looks like he delivers. Kris is more hopeful for Thor after seeing the trailer than Green Lantern after seeing that trailer. It’ll be really interesting to see how these movies do head to head.
The MTV VGA award show was on Saturday and with it came the premiere of the Batman: Arkham City trailer. A year ago, there was a teaser for the then unnamed Arkham Asylum sequel. This teaser showed Joker sitting in a chair with an IV drip clearly under a doctor’s care since the last game. From the new trailer it looks like that the doctor is Hugo Strange and, just as in the comics, Strange knows Batman’s secret identity. Kris and I don’t know where they’re going to go with this game. First, we suspected it would be another wacky adventure versus the Joker, but now it almost looks like Strange could be the main villain and not the Joker at all. Either way, how does the teaser images with Catwoman fit into things? We both really enjoyed the first game and are really looking forward to the sequel.
