I was going to try and find a different movie to talk about here, but then I saw the new trailer and was filled with so much SQUEE that I couldn’t contain myself. There are three movies that immediately come to mind for me when I think of “computer movies”: Antitrust, Hackers, and Tron. Tron has always been really magical to me because what computer programmer doesn’t want to run around inside his computer programs doing awesome stuff? I’ve always been really surprised that Disney never did a sequel before now, but I’m glad they decided to take the chance now. The most impressive CGI I’ve seen in the trailers is how they de-aged Jeff Bridges and made it look pretty natural. Throw in a soundtrack from Daft Punk and what’s not to love? If you watch this trailer and don’t feel the least bit excited, then you’re dead to me.
