Emperor's New Shirt

Travis While I was out of town last week, Kris mysteriously acquired some new clothes. We’ve yet to determine the identity of his benefactor, but we applaud their sense of style.
Friday is the premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1. As I originally understood it, the Green Lantern trailer would make its world premiere before the movie. Apparently, while the trailers will hit theaters then, it will actually premiere on Tuesday’s episode of Entertainment Tonight. They’ve released an ad for the episode with 30 seconds of the trailer. There’s a really annoying ET voice over, but we do get to see some things of interest. If you haven’t seen it yet, go take a look, I’ll wait.
The CGI suit doesn’t look too bad. It was brighter than I expected, but as the Gnome mentioned he’s supposed to be glowing with Lantern energy, so it works. The extremely brief glimpse of Oa we get looks like they’re making Oa look more ancient and rock-like than ancient and advanced technology as it’s portrayed in the comic, which is perfectly reasonable. I really like the look of the one Lantern energy construct (Hal’s basic giant punching fist) that we see. I was afraid that the constructs would look campy, but there’s a chance they might be okay. The Gnome approves of the two second shot we get of Kilowog. She’s hoping that in the full trailer he calls someone “Poozer” at least once, so she can judge his voice casting. I really think how that one word alone is delivered might make or break this movie for her. Hopefully, they’ll get it right.
DC’s February solicitations have started to come out. It sounds like it’s going to be a really cool month, but it is kind of freaky that the year is almost over. I’ve glanced at the solicitations a couple of times since they’ve been released on Friday. Each time I see something else cool, but then each time I get distracted by this cover for Generation Lost #19. I cannot wait to read this issue.
