Plan the Work

Comics are expensive and sometimes extra money is needed.

I was nice enough to give Trav the day off from the blog post, yesterday being his birthday. And I think I should be commended even further because Fallout: New Vegas came out yesterday and I’m writing this when I should be playing that.

New Vegas is similar to Fallout 3 in a lot of ways, so it’s not wowing me like a new game would. But at the same time, it feels like an old friend you’ve reconnected with. The gameplay is still just as fun, with a few new bells and whistles, but the setting and story are brand new. You can call it a glorified expansion if you want, but I’m enjoying it.

On Monday, DC release their solicitations so January. As Trav already mentioned, DC is doing a line of covers based around characters and their logos. I absolutely love these covers and I’m considering possible ways to display all of the ones I’m pulling. I’m glad DC is doing another cover event. The Faces of Evil event was before I started collecting. Let’s not get into the fact that I’ve collected all of them since then.

Comic solicitations create a weird effect by letting you see 2-3 months in advance. I’m already thinking 2011 has potential to be a good year for comics, and it’s not even November yet.
